The Thyroid fellowship is offered to candidates who have successfully completed their post-graduate training in Adult Endocrinology. This clinical fellowship focuses on management of complex patients with thyroid disease. The trainee will spend majority of their time in weekly thyroid clinics and in addition would spend some time in Nuclear Medicine, Pathology and radiation oncology clinics as it relates to Thyroid cancer. There will be a focus on improving knowledge in following areas: thyroid cytology and molecular markers, bedside thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided fine needle aspirations, and utilization of evidence-based medicine in management of complex thyroid cancer patients. In addition opportunities are available to be involved in a research project in the field of thyroidology, creating and delivering a series of resident teaching sessions, and presentations at rounds and tumor boards.
