The goal of this fellowship is to advance the knowledge and skills required for procedural management of patients who have experienced significant neuromusculoskeletal trauma. Through both inpatient work with sub-acute trauma patients in a rehab centre, as well as work in the outpatient neuromuscular clinic, the fellow will be exposed to a variety of complex orthopedic, soft tissue, and peripheral nerve injuries. Clinical duties will involve in-depth patient assessments that focus on injury and pain management, optimal rehabilitative strategies for best functional outcomes, identification and prognostication of associated peripheral nerve injuries, and physiatric procedural techniques using ultrasound as a clinical tool.
